Black Lives Matter Virtual Art Exhibit 2021

HELP RAISE FUNDS
FOR THE GIRLS IN ELMINA

During our Founder, Aisha Abdul Rahman’s trip to Ghana in January of 2021, she took a tour of Elmina Bantuma Basic School, where she visited a classroom of about 15-20 girls learning textiles and sewing, however there were no sewing machines for the girls to practice and get hands on experience. Unfortunately, unless children attend private school, this is very typical, courses like these are all theory due to the lack of resources for hands on learning.

When Aisha returned to the US, she suggested that we use this years event as an opportunity to also raise funds for the girls sewing machines for their classroom. It is our goal to make enough money to purchase 15-20 sewing machines.

You can support this fundraiser by purchasing a VIP ticket for the event or making a donation.

The Legacy Designs Studio, Juneteenth, Black Lives Matter Virtual Art Exhibition takes place this year from June 15th-21st, 2021.

Last years event aka experiment was well received and so we decided to continue with another this year, with hopes to make it a regular event that we host each and every year.

It is a great opportunity to come together and discuss the current political climate , social issues and solutions, enjoy some great music, as well as experience some of the most amazing Black Artwork from artists on the continent of Africa and in the diaspora.

The intention and purpose of this events is to uplift, empower unify and heal our consciousness as a people, as well as to honor the experiences, knowledge, struggle, and strength of our ancestors.
